A Symphony of Economic Harmony: The Levitt AMP Baton Rouge Impact

Updated: Apr 19

The Levitt AMP Baton Rouge Live Music Series is more than just a collection of concerts. It's a catalyst for economic growth, a beacon of hope, and a testament to the power of community. By revitalizing the Scotlandville Plaza and providing a platform for local talent, we're not just entertaining; we're empowering.

Our series offers a unique opportunity for local vendors to showcase their products and services to a diverse audience. From food trucks to artisans, these small businesses rely on the consistent foot traffic generated by our concerts to sustain their livelihoods. By supporting local businesses, we're contributing to the economic vitality of the community.

Furthermore, the series creates employment opportunities for musicians, technicians, security personnel, and volunteers. These individuals, many of whom are residents of Scotlandville, benefit from the income and experience gained through their involvement. By providing these opportunities, we're fostering a sense of economic stability and self-sufficiency.

The economic impact of the Levitt AMP Baton Rouge series extends beyond the immediate benefits to individuals. By attracting visitors to the Scotlandville neighborhood, we're helping to revitalize the area and boost local businesses. As the community thrives, property values increase, and opportunities for future development emerge.

However, our work is far from over. The Scotlandville community, like many others, faces significant challenges, including poverty, unemployment, and crime. By continuing to provide consistent, equitable opportunities for its residents, we can help to break the cycle of poverty and create a brighter future for generations to come.

We invite you to join us in our mission to transform Scotlandville into a vibrant and thriving community. By partnering with us, you can help to create a lasting legacy of economic prosperity and cultural enrichment.

The Levitt AMP Baton Rouge Music Series is supported in part by the Mortimer & Mimi Levitt Foundation, which partners with changemakers and nonprofits across the country to activate underused outdoor spaces through the power of free, live music-bringing people together, fostering belonging, and invigorating community life. Presenting high-caliber talent and a broad array of music genres and cultural programming, Levitt concerts are welcoming and inclusive destinations where people of all ages and backgrounds come together.

In 2025, the Levitt Foundation is supporting 650+ free concerts in 50+ towns and cities with a total audience of nearly 1 million people. In addition to supporting free concerts, the Levitt Foundation is dedicated to advancing equitable music ecosystems through research and partnerships. www.levitt.org.
